PEARL’S COWES WEEK

Throughout her life, Pearl Pleydell-Bouverie, mother of Lord Montagu, kept a diary. Cowes Week was an annual highlight, when Pearl was at the heart of the social whirl and sailed and watched the great yacht races on the Solent. This presentation will follow her Cowes Weeks from 1920, when she met and married Lord Montagu’s father John Montagu, to 1996. Using contemporary images and newsreel footage, the story will follow racing, royal visits, and key events at Beaulieu over three quarters of a century.

Admission to include a two course supper including wine: Members £20, Non-members £25. Cash bar. State if vegetarian option required. Restricted numbers so please apply early.
